Peter Burling and Blair Tuke took the challenge of making a 119 nautical mile trip to Cape Brett in the Bay Islands. The trip took 9.5 hours to make which left the men a little tired and slightly sore, making their first steps on land a little shaky. The 49er was able to lead the 50 foot boats to the Cape, placing behind the top two boats. The forecast of 25kts allowed the boat to keep up a solid speed of 20.8 kts. The men had a couple of capsizes and a few pitchpoles but it didn't stop them from riding the waves, and sailing a grueling race against big competitors. For more on the race go to Sail-World.com.
