What is the future of this discipline? I would make the argument that kite course racing has one of best chances of becoming an Olympic Sport for the following reasons,
1) More marketable than classical sailing (more exciting to watch)
2) Affordable - Olympic selection is heavily influenced by the accessibility and affordability of the equipment. Right now, there is no cheaper way to get on the water and rip around the buoys. Kite, lines, board, harness, wetsuit. That's it!
3) Popularity and Growth - Kiting is one of, if not the most popular watersports in the world right now. Will this growth continue?
